Warning! Spoilers for Marvel's One World Under Doom ahead!
Marvel is setting up a fight decades in the making, once more pitting perennial adversaries Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four’s Mister Fantastic against one another. Currently, the Latverian dictator has extended his rule over all of Earth, lording over the entire planet as its Emperor, but as the One World Under Doom crossover event continues, it might be up to his first, greatest foe to take him down.
Marvel’s advanced solicitation for One World Under Doom #7, written by Ryan North, with art by R.B. Silva, teases “a last, desperate gamble” by Reed Richards to save the world from Doom’s control.

Running a total of nine issues, the series has treated Doom, including pitting him against the greater threat of Dormammu, but as it reaches its apex, fans are eager to find out how his actions might shift towards a more traditionally villainous role. In any case, issue #7 is shaping up to be the next great Mr. Fantastic vs. Doctor Doom face-off.

Doctor Doom has always been powerful, but after unlocking his full potential, he's transformed into a one-man Avengers roster.
Then, there is the freshly released solicitation for One World Under Doom #7:
Doom once sought glory, but that glory is now dead. All that is left is power and control as rebellions in several countries are quickly — and brutally — put down. As Doom prepares to make his final stand, and a world’s army stands against him, only a few can see the truth... it’s not enough. Emperor Doom is going to win. And so Mr. Fantastic prepares a last, desperate gamble...
In other words, at the peak of his triumph as Emperor, something major will happen to upend Doom's reign, and Mr. Fantastic is going to have something to do with it. While Marvel fans will have to wait for the specific details of this arc to fall into place, it is worth noting, in broad strokes, how fitting it is that Reed Richards will play an instrumental role in the series as an endgame adversary for Doom.
A Doctor Doom Story As Epic As "One World" Wouldn't Be Complete Without A Face-Off With Mr. Fantastic
One World Under Doom #6; Written By Ryan North; Art By R.B. Silva; Available August 6, 2025 From Marvel Comics

Doctor Doom and Reed Richards are Marvel's most perennial foes, to the point where, in some ways, they represent opposing sides of the same hero/villain coin. No matter the heights of power Doom might ascend to in One World Under Doom, or any story, Mr. Fantastic will always be the one enemy capable of finding his Achilles heel, of bringing him down despite all odds. One World Under Doom is maneuvering its story into a position where this could once more be the case, though it is also possible Marvel will subvert this dynamic, and with it, fans' expectations.
The inclusion of Mr. Fantastic in the pivotal next stage of the story suggests that Marvel's latest Doctor Doom saga will continue to build toward a spectacular, canon-shaking conclusion.
As mentioned, One World Under Doom has taken a novel approach to its story by centering Doom, making him a protagonist, if not an outright hero. In other words, the series has been remarkably able to distill the complexities that have come to define the character's role in Marvel lore into a densely plotted, and narratively satisfying arc, at least so far; the inclusion of Mr. Fantastic in the pivotal next stage of the story suggests that Marvel's latest Doctor Doom saga will continue to build toward a spectacular, canon-shaking conclusion.
One World Under Doom #7 will be available September 10, 2025 from Marvel Comics.
