When visiting a city like London, I don't blame you if you would rather spend less money on accommodation so you can spend morewhile exploring the capital. If you're doing it right, you'll barely be in the hotel or apartment anyway.

That doesn't mean, however, you have to stay somewhere grotty. Take the 4-starRadisson Blu Euston Square, for example. Located next to Warren Street station, it offers visitors an easy going, elegant escape from the bustling streets. Step in for a refined, faff-free stay.

Rooms and facilities

I was delighted to be sleeping in the Junior Suite, which would still feel spacious even if they put another bed in it – and the bed was huge. There was also a dining table, sofa and two televisions. The room was full of additional furniture and facilities that you would expect from a suite – enough to lounge, dine and even work if you really wanted to – but it didn't feel cramped at all.

There was enough wardrobe space to accommodate a two-week stay and thebathroom was also a great size – no fighting with your plus one over sink space or robe hooks here.

As for decor, the rooms were contemporary but slightly dated. I didn't find this a problem at all, as the suite was in perfectly good condition and very comfortable.

Standard rooms start from £110 and suites start from £250 a night (room only). To find out more, visit the website here.

Food and drink

The on-site restaurant is Steak and Lobster, which serves freshly caught lobster alongside high quality steak. My guest and I enjoyed beef steak tacos to start, followed by a generous portion of roast chicken with broccoli, and steak and fries.

The restaurant might not have had a buzzing atmosphere, but I do think that's to be expected from many London hotel restaurants, unless they have a particular reputation. However, the staff were really welcoming and attentive, which always makes the experience that much better.

Breakfast is served in the same dining area until 11am – heaven to those looking for a lie in (myself included). The buffet is made up of continental and cooked foods, and will certainly do the job of getting you going for the day ahead.

Hotel highlights

The hotel might not be the most glitzy and glamorous, but it's still sleek and inviting. Crucially, it's comfortable and ticks all the boxes for necessities. There's a 24 hour gym to suit night owls and early birds alike.

The central location is also brilliant for hitting the key tourist attractions...

What to do nearby

Nearby hotspots include the British Museum (15 minute walk), Madame Tussauds (18 minutes), Regents Park (10 minutes,London Zoo and Covent Garden. The hotel is down the road from Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, so you can drop your shopping bags off before heading elsewhere.
